Star City Broadcasting is seeking a General Sales Manager in Lafayette, IN.

We’re the home of WPBI FOX/NBC, WPBY ABC, MPBY Me/MY, WBPE FM, WYCM FM, WSHY FM and notably Purdue Boilermaker Sports on WAZY FM.

Star City Broadcasting is looking for a strong General Sales Manger to help guide our sales efforts across 4 tv stations, 4 radio stations, and a multitude of digital products. This position requires an individual who possesses strong leadership skills who can direct a local sales team in selling new business and creating revenue streams through a multi-screen integrated approach. We are looking for a professional with superior people skills, great attitude and work ethic!

In this position you will:
• Provide leadership for the broadcast/digital sales team.
• Develop a high performing sales team that exceeds revenue goals by driving client results through creative marketing solutions.
• Manage and control sales revenue by developing strong relationships with local clients.
• Achieve client results, satisfaction, and retention.
• Effectively manage sales operations including inventory in OSI.
• Develop and implement pricing and packaging to fill needs of both client and station by reviewing inventory on a regular basis.
• Manages recruitment and development of sales professionals.
• Makes decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion, and termination of employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Requirements:
• Experience in TV or Digital Sales Management
• Highly skilled leader, negotiator, and motivator
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency using Microsoft Suite and OSI preferred
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Promotion Producer/Editor

Waypoint Media is looking for a Promotion Producer/Editor based at our Hub in Meridian, MS. This position will maintain accurate network and syndicated promotions for all Waypoint Media stations within our five market group. This candidate will work closely with sales and traffic Teams to ingest commercials from all markets into our commercial system. Additional editing duties will be assigned as projects warrant.

We are looking for someone who is super organized, self-guided and experienced with non-linear editing.

On-Camera Broadcast Meteorologist

NewsHub, owned by Waypoint Media, has an immediate opening for a full-time On-Camera Broadcast Meteorologist based in Little Rock, AR.

As Meteorologist, you will be responsible for the content of weather segments for assigned newscasts. You will issue warnings and alerts, produce graphics and maps using AccuWeather Storm Director.

Job Responsibilities

Required Skills and Experience
• Meteorology degree from an accredited program
• Previous on-air weather experience

Main News Anchor (Two Openings)

Waypoint Media has immediate openings for a main anchor team based at NewsHub in Little Rock, AR.

This is a unique opportunity to work for one of the fastest growing ownership groups in the industry.

The Main News Anchor will lead the evening and late weekday newscasts. The position is Monday – Friday.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Anchor a variety of newscasts
• Reviews copy and corrects errors in content grammar and punctuation in alignment with editorial style and formatting guidelines
• Pitches stories to news managers and news producers which are relevant to the local community
• Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality
• Writes stories for the on-air broadcasts, the web, and other digital platforms
• Interacts with viewers/users in person and on social media sites.
• Mentor younger journalists in the newsroom
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required
• Minimum three year’ experience in news reporting or anchoring
